The
Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation, Inc. (MAEF)
is a nonprofit organization that promotes and enhances
understanding and appreciation of the importance of
agriculture in our daily lives.
MAEF was
founded in 1989 as a result of a Governor's Task Force on
Agricultural Education. The Board of Directors meets bimonthly
with C. John Sullivan, III serving as President. Activities of
the Foundation are supported through the efforts of many
volunteers and donors to the organization. Additional funding
is provided through the Maryland "Ag
Tag", thanks to the support of the Maryland
General Assembly and Governor.
In addition
to the
educational programs being offered, MAEF has
recently moved to the Senator William Amoss Agriculture Center
built in Harford County, Maryland. This Center combines
offices with a state of the art education facility for teacher
training, day camps, specimen plots, and special programs.
Through the
generosity of many individuals, organizations, and businesses,
MAEF has built a premier educational program enhancing
education statewide. MAEF would like to particularly recognize
its Gold Founders for their support of these initiatives:
