Explore agriculture first-hand on field trips and through hands-on activities that can easily be infused into curriculum areas such as math, science, language arts, and social studies.  Workshops provide a wealth of resources and ideas to use in the classroom . . . ideas which make learning fun for students and motivates them to participate in the learning process. 

• Workshop activities support Maryland state learner outcomes and include:
   
  • Agricultural field trips and tours
  • Experiential learning
  • Hands-on activities
  • Classroom demonstrations
  • Construction projects
  • Resources that include videos, trade books, models, and ready-to-use lesson plans

   

• Participants receive:
   
  • One inservice credits from MSDE  (with documentation of implementation as required by MSDE)
  • Resource materials including trade books, videos and CDs
  • Direct contact with Ag resource professionals
     
• Presenters:
   
  • Resources persons and presenters are selected for their ability to relate agricultural concepts to the elementary classroom
  • Presenters include agriculture industry representatives, agriscience and technology teachers, and National FFA Program Specialist
     
• Registration:
   
• Fee includes three nights lodging, four days training, tours, most meals, and all materials, resources, and lesson plans
