2009 Golf Outing

The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation (MAEF) and the Maryland Greenhouse Growers Association (MGGA) held its annual Golf Outing & Fundraiser Sept. 15, 2009 at Oakmont Green Golf Club in Hampstead, MD.
Seventy-nine players enjoyed a beautiful day on the links in support of MAEF and MGGA. This year’s winning low score team included Drew Burgess, Al Greene, Dick Perry and George Mayo. Second place went to the foursome of Gary Seibel, Greg Salers, Tina Paul and Pat Paul. The team from southern Maryland took third place with players David Bourdon, Yates Clagett, Hal Rich and Gary Hardy.
Every team player received exciting prizes donated by Jerry D’s Quality Bark. Door prizes were provided by Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc, Skip and Rachel Pieper, Brett Karp and Marshalls’ Riverbank Nurseries, Inc. Despite 79 attempts, the Kawasaki Mule hole-in-one prize sponsored by Ceresville New Holland, Inc. in Frederick was unclaimed this year.
During the awards ceremony, MAEF president, C. John Sullivan, III, and MGGA Vice-President Brett Karp expressed their appreciation for the generosity and support of the players and many sponsors who made the event successful. The outing raised several thousand dollars in support of the MGGA scholarship, agricultural literacy and awareness.
